Responsible for managing the overall vendor performance per contractual service level agreements (SLA) and ensures vendor conformity to enterprise standards, operational processes and management guidelines to ensure business goals are achieved for an enterprise function.

Acts as single point of accountability for internal and external business partners.


Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Defines and oversees the execution of complex vendor management and implementation strategy for a defined set of vendors.
  • Proactively develops effective business relationships with vendors, stakeholders, and key decision makers in order to meet or exceed expectations.
  • Responsible for the development and ongoing management of one or more implementation programs that are multi-state, multi-function and multi-year in scope.
  • Directs the development, planning, prioritization, approval, implementation and compliance of on-going vendor programs.
  • Establishes program governance when needed to assure response to issue escalation.
  • Develops program budget and ensures program meets its stated objectives.
  • Provides subject matter expertise in response to strategic business issues.
  • Research applicable subject matter practices and remains aware of industry trends.
  • Drives continuous improvement activities and implementations across functional areas.
  • Recommends and implements vendor parameters regarding vendor production and quality in support of business objectives.


Requirements
:

  • Requires a BA/BS degree in business or a related field
  • 5-7 years of process improvement, inventory management, contract management, vendor management, project management experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Ability to travel required.

  • Fundamental understanding of the healthcare insurance business and how it operates
  • Strong contractual comprehension

  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong project management and execution history
  • Manages organizational changes
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Previous vendor/supplier management experience preferred.
