Job DescriptionNarrative Job Summary:A Cybersecurity Engineer II is an intermediate-level position responsible for the design, implementation, and management of IT cybersecurity solutions and systems infrastructure. Responsibilities & Tasks:Ability to create and follow IT related policies and procedures.
Root Cause analysis of baseline system defects, hardware, and software.
Administer Windows Active Directory, Group Policies, and Certificate Services.
Manage network storage devices (SAN / NAS)
Troubleshoot issues dealing with systems/network and subsystems, identify/analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Perform preventive maintenance actions including system back-ups, error log reviews, and database size integrity checks.
Develop and enforce security policies and standards.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
Perform security assessments and risk assessments.
Provide advanced security training to employees.
Perform other duties and assist with special projects and installments as assigned.
Expected core competencies:
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Server and PC Operating Systems
Proficient with Linux Operating System
Design, implement, and maintain physical and virtual IT infrastructure including servers, storage, networking, and security devices
Ability to create and utilize administrative scripts
Develop and implement cybersecurity policies, procedures, and guidelines to mitigate risks and vulnerabilities
Implement STIGS (Security Technical Implementation Guides) for operating systems, applications, and devices to enhance cybersecurity posture.
Conduct regular vulnerability scans using Nessus and remediate identified issues promptly
Demonstrate strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products such as Teams, Project, Power Point, Excel and Outlook.
Use technical information in operation and maintenance activities
Stay current with the latest security trends, threats, and best practices and incorporate them into an IT infrastructure.
Ability to mentor less knowledgeable team members
Qualifications:
Bachelors in related field
Must have at least five years of combined experience in systems administration and cybersecurity.
Required certifications:
CompTIA Security or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification
Additional certifications a plus: A , Network , MCP, MCSA, CCNA, SSCP, CISA
Related military training and/or job experience is a plus
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Work locations will be extremely remote, along the southern border in areas surrounding Pharr, McAllen, or Rio Grande City, TX
Must be able to obtain a government security clearance****
