**Dishwasher / General Utility Job Description**

**Job Purpose:** To maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards for dinnerware, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, cookware, as well as the dishwashing area, using machine and manual cleaning methods.

**Duties and Responsibilities:**

* Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware, and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine

* Wash pots, pans, trays, and other necessary kitchen equipment by hand

* Sort, stack, and transport clean dishes to proper storage area, rewashing soiled dishes before deliver

* Maintain a clean and organized work area and completes cleaning as assigned, including but not limited to:

* Assemble and disassemble dish machine

* Set up and breakdown dishwashing area

* Change dishwater in dish machine every hour

* Fill and empty soak tubs with cleaning and sanitizing solutions

* Clean and roll/unroll mats

* Sweep and mop kitchen floors at end of shift; wipe up any spills immediately

* Sweep up trash around exterior of restaurant and garbage dumpster

* Remove trash and garbage to dumpster

* General restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed

* Maintain knowledge and practices workplace safety procedures, including but not limited to:

* Notify manager if dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard

* Never touch dirty dishes before touching clean dishes without washing hands first

* Hazards include, but not limited to: cuts from broken glass and metal cans, burns, slipping, and tripping

**Requirements:**

* Reading and verbal communication skills

* Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to 4 hours in length

* Ability to operate dishwashing equipment and tools following safety procedures

* Frequent washing of hands and immersion of hands in water

* Ability to frequently reach, bend, and stoop

* Ability to lift and transport items up to 50-100 pounds frequently throughout shift

* Ability to work in a hot damp environment for extended periods of time

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
