Position Overview:
The Medical Office Receptionist is vital in ensuring the medical office's smooth and efficient operation. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service, managing patient flow, scheduling appointments, and handling administrative tasks with precision and care.
Key Responsibilities:
Front Desk Management: Greet and check-in patients upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
Appointment Scheduling: Coordinate and manage patient appointments, including rescheduling and follow-up reminders.
Patient Records: Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, including data entry and updates in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Communication: Answer and direct phone calls, respond to inquiries, and relay messages promptly to the appropriate staff members.
Insurance and Billing: Verify patient insurance information, process payments, and assist with billing inquiries.
Administrative Support: Assist with various administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning documents, and ordering office supplies.
Patient Assistance: Provide patients with information about clinic services, policies, and procedures. Address patient concerns and escalate issues as needed.
Collaboration: Work closely with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and office operations. Collaborate with other team members to support overall clinic goals.
Compliance: Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality guidelines.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree or relevant certification is preferred.
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
