Eliassen Group is Hiring a Project/Program Manager- Guidewire Experience Near Hartford, CT

Onsite role located in Hartford CT.

Our client is seeking a Program Manager with Guidewire experience.

Summary:

  • Manages and plans complex program/projects with regards to time, budget, and scope, and ensures quality, time, and budget objectives.
  • Plans, schedules, monitors, and reports on activities related to program/projects, ensuring that there are appropriate and effective governance arrangements and risk management supported by comprehensive reporting and communication.
  • The ideal candidate takes accountability for the definition, documentation, and successful completion of assigned program/projects.
  • This role would lead Guidewire Program initiatives and successfully execute one or more value streams to support the delivery of strategic technology projects.

Program/Project Management:

  • Oversee program from inception to successful implementation including project objectives, scope and level of effort, and project strategies and plans.
  • Assist with getting projects off the ground, keeping them on track and on budget, and resolving issues as well as monitoring progress against the plan.
  • Lead Agile processes for the program to ensure delivery and releases are within scope.
  • Monitor Agile metrics for the program and responsible for ongoing development of their agile teams, continued improvement of development processes, and product quality and quantity of work delivered.
  • Develop consolidated project plans, specifying high level goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, risks, contingency plans and allocation of available resources. Monitors, analyzes, and assesses deviation from the project plans & ensures the achievement of project milestones. Ensures that all project plans are realistic and are maintained.
  • Ensures that project methodologies are followed and that all mandatory project work products are completed for projects within program.

Exhibits Leadership:

  • Assists with the assignment of project personnel.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project resources to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
  • Confers with project resources to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
  • Provides leadership and motivation to project teams throughout the project life cycle.
  • Creates and maintains an engaged work environment by ensuring clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
  • Mentors project resources to enable delivery.
  • Owns program results and assists teams to deliver performance within the range of targeted expectations.
  • Balances team priorities with the overall program and corporate priorities.
  • Assumes key overall responsibility for ensuring that sponsors have easy access to information that is useful to them.
  • Works closely with other project managers and business sponsors to understand and prioritize business goals and information needs
  • Leads the effort across projects in creative approaches to problem solving and quality deliverables supporting business needs.
  • Follows established standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
  • Utilizes Agile tracking tool for monitoring agile project performance and reporting status.
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel, and modify schedules and plans as required.
  • Prepares project status reports, and keep management, customers and others informed of project status and related issues.
  • Coordinates update meetings to communicate plans, status and issues to higher levels of management.

Required Experience:

  • 10 years of experience with project & program delivery including large complex transformational programs (waterfall, iterative, hybrid, agile)
  • Experience implementation Guidewire Product suite, Policy module is preferred
  • Experience in working with a 3rd party System Integrator Partner & Vended SaaS Solution customized to company needs
  • Experience in leading IT project teams that contain vendors, on-shore/offshore Developers, Business Analysts, Architects, Data Analysts, QA, etc.
  • Strong Business Acumen - Knowledge of Insurance business and products and ability to continuously learn and engage with business partners regarding scope and business value
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as knowledge and experience of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project
  • Strong relationship management skills – Ability to effectively collaborate with business & IT partners and to foster strong relationships with them to aid successful project delivery
  • Strong ability to connect dots and build integrated plans that include business timelines for filings, intersecting IT project timelines and deliverables where dependencies exist, and outside project risks. Someone with an anticipatory mindset rather than a reactionary one. Proactive, takes initiative, accountable, self-motivate
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) including meeting facilitation and presentation skills and negotiation skills
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as MS Project, Planview, Azure DevOps and/or similar.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Powerpoint, Excel
  • Agile Certifications strongly desired (e.g. PMI-ACP, SAFe, CSM, etc.)
  • PMP Certifications strongly desired (e.g.: PgMP, PMP, etc.)
  • P&C Insurance experience required

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.

W2 employees of Eliassen Group who are regularly scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week are eligible for the following benefits: medical (choice of 3 plans), dental, vision, pre-tax accounts, other voluntary benefits including life and disability insurance, 401(k) with match, and sick time if required by law in the worked-in state/locality.
