Job Overview:
Crisis Support Specialist's play a vital role in providing care and support to individuals with disabilities, helping them to lead fulfilling lives and participate fully in their communities. CSS's work in various settings, including group homes, residential facilities, and day programs, where they assist individuals with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure their safety and well-being.
Duties:
- Assist in maintaining accurate medical documentation and records
- Implement behavior management strategies
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and guidelines
- Provide immediate support and intervention during crisis situations, including de-escalation techniques to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and staff.
- Utilize behavior management techniques and strategies to support residents in managing challenging behaviors and developing adaptive coping skills.
- Adhere to confidentiality guidelines and ethical standards when handling sensitive information related to residents' mental health and crisis interventions.
- Support individuals with disabilities in performing activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided, including progress notes, incident reports, and communication logs, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Encourage and facilitate opportunities for individuals to develop and maintain independence in daily activities, decision-making, and self-advocacy skills.
