VCS is looking for Seed Inventory Technician in Johnston, IA. Earn Gift card up to $250 every month

Pay Rate : $ 20 / hr on w2 Attendance bonus

Attendance Bonus : $50 weekly perfect attendance bonus

Attendance / Performance Appreciation : Up to $250 / Month as Gift Cards (Non-Taxable)

Contract : 12 Months with possible extension

Location : Johnston, IA 50131

Description :

Seed Inventory Technician Responsibilities :

Conduct full inventory review of seed lots on hand

Cross-check lists with physical inventory to accurately document materials

Prepare items for devitalization according to in-house protocols

Organize the remaining inventory so materials are properly stored and easy to find

Support seed movement, shipping, and receiving activities for group

Interacting with researchers on a regular basis to understand shifting priorities and deadlines

Opportunities for additional scientific training, project support, and research opportunities in field, greenhouse, and laboratory projects possible depending on candidate performance and competencies.

Additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications :

AA / AS / BS in Biology, Plant Science, or related fields.

Candidates must have a proven work ethic that verifies an ability to work independently and focus on completing tasks in an appropriate timeline and follow instructions with great attention to detail.

Candidate must be able to withstand cold room work with temperatures at 40F for short periods of time.

Must be able to tolerate working in environments with presence of dust and plant debris.

Must be patient and able to concentrate on meticulous work tasks.

Must have a "commitment to safety" attitude for self, others and the environment.

Must have the ability to read, understand and follow standard operating procedures (SOP's) that are required for work.

Must have a strong attention to detail which is critical to ensure the items are properly validated.

Must exhibit good interpersonal skills : Be respectful, helpful and have a considerate attitude toward others, and willing to learn from others.

Must have some basic computer skills to input data and work with databases (specific training will be provided)

Ability to lift up to 50lbs is a benefit but not required
