Description

Job Description:

The Key Account Representative manages and expands current and new relationships with key strategic accounts within the Sporting Goods, Department, Mass, Club, Specialty and Closeout categories. Responsible for achieving sales and profitability targets with assigned accounts as well as represent entire range of company products and service planning cycle. In addition, the role will spearhead and manage new growth opportunities within respective channels, opening new accounts and business opportunities. The position will report directly to CEO.

Key Responsibilities

· National and Regional Accounts

  • Meet and exceed all revenue and sales targets for assigned accounts, each season
  • Drive sell in and sell thru of all product, merchandising and retail planning initiatives
  • Develop strategic account assortment plans for all year time frames
  • Negotiate pricing, margin, terms and contractual agreements with key strategic accounts
  • Achieving projected gross margin and profitability by account
  • Developing and supporting monthly, quarterly and annual projections
  • Visiting retailers ensuring Customer and Consumer satisfaction
  • Developing and cultivating retail and distributor relationships at various levels
  • Analyzing and reporting on weekly, monthly and seasonal retail and wholesale selling and shipping trends
  • Working with CEO to Negotiate and manage vendor agreements
  • Manage account relationship and maintain a high level of service delivery while also identifying new business opportunities
  • Work alongside marketing team on all retail, digital and other activation and marketing initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with Operations team to ensure service requirements are implemented in line with Elite and the account’s expectations
  • Work collaboratively with the Product team to merchandise, line plan, forecast and create SMU opportunities for each account
  • Proactively identify and open new accounts across all channels
  • Proactively open and manage off-price accounts by selling, liquidating and keeping inventory levels balanced.
  • Managing the SPS commerce portal to ensure sell through, replenishment and promotional communication through our business and retail partners.

Experience:

  • 5 years of sporting goods and/or mass merchant selling experience
  • College graduate and/or industry trained professional.
  • Technical knowledge in PC based systems and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).
  • Technical knowledge of JDA and Edifice
  • The ability to work with a planning team
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Solid negotiations skills
  • Initiative, self-motivation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations
  • Experience in working with high profile clientele preferred
  • Ability to travel as necessary
  • Strong work ethic
  • Sports industry knowledge and participation is preferred
