Elizabeth's New Life Center is Hiring a Parenting Educator - part-time Near Dayton, OH

There is one part-time position available for 20 - 24 hours per week. During the training/probationary period all work will be performed in office with an opportunity to move to hybrid in office/remote in the future with at least one office day will be required each week. The hours are a combination of daytime and evening hours in order to meet the needs of the clients being served.

Parenting Educator

Full Position Title: Parenting Educator Job Status: Non-Exempt, Part time

Department: Women’s Centers

Reports to: Education Manager and Associate Director of Programs

Supervises: None

This position’s overall responsibility is to provide group education programs using the Nurturing Parenting methods and grant reporting.

Primary Duties

Essential Functions:

Parenting Education classes

  • Provides Nurturing Parenting curriculums within the mission and philosophy of Elizabeth’s New Life Center.
  • Recruit participants.
  • Screens participants for grant requirements.
  • Makes follow-up contacts.
  • Administers required evaluation tools and surveys.
  • Maintains excellent data entry, documenting participants and individual attendance data.
  • Accurately reports appropriate data for the grant through several program entities.
  • Keeps Ekyros up to date to with notes

Client Services

  • Provide parenting education to clients through virtual setting
  • Be a resource to clients for other services provided by Women’s Centers and Holy Family Prenatal Care.
  • Makes community referrals.

Center Administration and Support

  • As available, support other needs of women’s center staff.
  • Follow office and record keeping policies.

Financial

  • Works with Director of Operations, Associate Director or Programs and the Education Manager to ensure compliance with proposed grant budgets.
  • Submits all expenses to Education Manager for approval in a timely fashion.
Secondary Functions:
  • Performs administrative functions as required such as filing, answering telephones, copying, etc.
  • Attend all meetings and training including quarterly in-service training and yearly all staff.
  • Assist with Earn While You Learn operations.
  • Other duties pertaining to the mission of the organization as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

Experience, Education and Licensure
Bachelor’s Degree preferred. At least 2 years’ experience in education for adults, parents, or classroom education.

Language Skills

Must have highly developed interpersonal skills; ability to meet people with ease; ability to communicate the written and spoken work with tact and diplomacy; good organizational skills, well disciplined, able to meet deadlines, self-starter, able to work under pressure; ability to work well effectively with others. Ability to read, analyze, medical reports, and legal documents. Ability to use computer and associated software with little or no assistance. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The noise level in the work environment is low – moderate. While fulfilling the responsibilities of this position, the employee is required to sit, stand and/or walk. Specific vision abilities required by the position include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

Other

Maintain professional expertise by participating in appropriate educational conferences and programs to develop and maintain professional knowledge and skills. Driving to and from various locations is required and the employee is required to have both private insurance and a driving record that enables insurability under the ENLC policy. Mileage will be reimbursed by ENLC. Nights and occasional weekends required.

  • A servant’s attitude with the ability to understand how all tasks impact Elizabeth's New Life Center’s ministry of supporting life.
  • A strong team player willing to both make difficult decisions and submit to authority.
  • Willingness to support Elizabeth’s New Life Center’s mission and vision as defined by Elizabeth's New Life Center.
