The Opportunity:

As Associate Director, you’re responsible for collaborating with leadership on the development and execution of strategic initiatives for our clients. With the support of your leadership team, you’ll manage the entirety of client projects, including client management and managing and monitoring the team on KPI delivery.

In this role, you will manage team members, delegating work across the team and serving as the subject matter expert. As a manager of others, you’re responsible for providing performance feedback, coaching, and career development support. You’ll work alongside the Managing Director(s), Director(s) and Senior Account Executive(s) to ensure team members have what they need to be successful in their roles.

We are open to candidates located in Los Angeles or New York City. This is a hybrid opportunity.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Showcase expertise: Utilize your knowledge of the climate, innovation, business, and tech spaces to drive forward important narratives and results for your clients.
  • Collaborate on the PR strategy: Collaborate with leadership to ensure an effective and creative strategy is always in place and being proactively implemented for each client. Regularly report back to your leadership team on progress and impact.
  • Manage client relationships to surpass your goals: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction with the agency’s work and fostering long-term partnerships. Work closely with our clients to understand how PR will be most effective in supporting their organizational priorities, and keep attention to detail in order to ensure our client's goals are met.
  • Manage team members: Oversee the management of team members by providing them with regular performance feedback, coaching, and career development support so they can achieve their goals and meet the expectations of their role. You’ll serve as the subject matter expert and work with other leaders on project management and strategic workforce planning.
  • Project management: Oversee project management for all of your projects to ensure the agency’s timelines and goals are met.
  • Secure top-tier coverage: Bring in select top-tier coverage to meet critical client business and communicate goals.
  • Thought leadership: Provide thought leadership and industry insights to the agency’s leadership team and clients.

Who You Are:

  • You communicate and gain commitment to broad organizational goals, and help others understand how their work relates to the organizational vision. You shift focus when goals are not aligned with company priorities.
  • You’re the subject matter expert and offer guidance and support to more junior members. You stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
  • You define and communicate project roles & outcomes, regularly updating team members on work progress. You understand when to build group consensus or when to drive for action. You anticipate issues and roadblocks and create contingency plans.
  • You work through conflict to achieve productive outcomes and appropriately escalate concerns. You give others the benefit of the doubt and approach situations with curiosity.

Qualifications:

  • (Preferred)Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • (Preferred) 6-8 years of experience in PR strategy, with a proven track record of success in managing complex PR initiatives.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex PR concepts to clients and internal teams.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively, with a focus on delivering results.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Based in or near LA or NYC office.

The compensation range for this role is $85,000 - $100,000 based on experience.
