Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt - Full Time/Salary
Reports to: Benefits Department Manager
General Position Summary:
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
Provides technical support and service to agency’s Benefits client base for group or
individual coverage.
Works in conjunction with Sales Executive or independently to market new and renewal
benefit insurance including gathering census information to obtain quote from carriers.
Verifies quotes and insurance policies or changes for accuracy.
Prepares enrollment materials, rate sheets and proposals for presentation to clients.
Ensures that documentation and information in agency data base is precise and detailed
according to agency procedure and insurance protocols.
Adheres to agency customer service standards and office procedures in all areas of
operations.
Secondary Functions:
Accompanies Benefits Sales Executive on client calls when requested.
Stays informed regarding industry and carrier information, new product information,
legislation, coverages and technology.
Other duties as may be assigned by Manager.
Job Scope:
Performs duties independently under direct supervision of the Benefits Manager in conjunction with the EPBB procedures manual. Decisions are made within prescribed operating guidelines, policies ,and procedures.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position is not supervisory in nature, however, Account Manager may be requested to help train or instruct co-workers that are less experienced with various aspects of technology,
procedures or insurance knowledge.
Interpersonal Contacts:
Account Manager must be able to interact with others effectively by utilizing good
communication skills, cooperating purposefully and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the agency.
Account Manager works in a team environment that includes a close working relationship with one or more Sales Executive.
Contact with customers is in writing or telephone. Account Manager meets in person with customers as needed.
Account Manager maintains a positive working relationship with Company Representatives and Underwriters.

Education and/or Experience:
An Insurance License and related work experience in the field of life and health insurance is required. Knowledge or background analyzing life and health insurance coverage is helpful.
Job Conditions:
Working conditions include work inside the office, and will occasionally require some travel tomeet with clients at their office location(s). Attending continuing education classes will require time away from office.
When working from home, conditions are maintained equal to working in the office.
Requires physical ability to sit and operate a computer for long periods of time, which includes fingering, repetitive small motor activity, grasping, stooping, standing lifting light objects under 10 pounds
