Ellsworth Construction & Trucking, LLC is Hiring a Paver Screed Operator Near Oklahoma City, OK
Uses the screed to lay asphalt material to project specifications including but not limited to depth, width, and grade, when not operating the screed, performs laborer duties.
Must be able to detect and correct defects in surfaces, seams, and edges.
Having a thorough understanding of various aspects of the paving industry including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, mix designs, job specifications, compaction and other details related to asphalt paving.
Match all paver joints and maintain consistent joints, keep screed adjusted properly and maintain mat quality.
Job sites clean up, Basic maintenance of asphalt paving equipment, follow all safety rules and regulations.
Operates screed machine from a standing position on a platform attached to the paver or walking alongside.
Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Knowledge of hand-held and power tools including power vibrators, polishers, cutting saws, and edging tools.
Must have 3 years' experience operating heavy machinery.
Must have knowledge on materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction.
Must be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations.
Must follow all company and site rules and regulations.
Employee will be required to long periods of time standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting.
Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls, and tools.
May be required to lift, carry, and move up to 50lbs.
Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, and leather work boots.
Must have the ability to stand, crawl and kneel for long periods of time.
Work environments will vary making it necessary to tolerate weather conditions, such as rain and extreme temperatures. Employees may be exposed to dust, dirt, varying temperatures, loud noises, etc.
Physical fitness since a backhoe operator must have the physical capacity to lift heavy loads with ease since the job involves manual labor.
Hand-eye-foot coordination since a backhoe operator must have steady hands and feet to guide and control the heavy machinery.
