Job Description
Elluminates Software Corporation is looking for a full-time Senior Linux Engineer. This position is in support of the Department of State (DOS) as a part of the Vanguard 2.2.1 contract. The Vanguard 2.2.1 program provides transparent, interconnected systems and security support for the Department of State (DOS) Bureau of Information Resource Management (IRM) program. The IRM program enables the Department of State to successfully carry out its foreign policy mission by providing enterprise architecture design, engineering, operations and maintenance support services for data center services, desktop computers, servers, networks, firewalls, voice and data communications and other unique enterprise applications. The candidate will be responsible for the development of Linux solutions utilizing Red Hat technologies. The candidate will research, analyze, evaluate and integrate as necessary new and emerging technologies in order to find ways to deliver a superior IT environment to the bureaus in a cost effective and secure manner. The candidate will support the continuing goal of incorporating these innovative technologies into the Department’s equipment modernization program.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute the duties and responsibilities as a member of the Cloud & Virtual Services
- Design, integrate, and deploy Red Hat Linux IT solutions.
- Provide operational engineering support to enterprise-level solutions using virtual Linux servers and services.
- Provision Linux systems and patches to the software and hardware hosting infrastructure.
- Participate in on-call after-hours support rotation, responding to support calls after-hours/weekends/holidays/shutdowns as applicable.
- Update system and process documentation and user guides as needed diagrams and SOPs as needed.
- Red Hat Linux Experience
- Linux system administration
- Knowledge or Training on Linux deployment, configuration, and maintenance.
- Experience working with customers to capture/document requirements.
- Linux engineer experience, namely on RedHat/RHEL.
- Experience working on incorporating commercial mobile devices and other hardware products into a government infrastructure.
- Linux integration with Active Directory experience,
- Strong scripting skills.
- DOS processes.
- BS and 5 years of related experience; Masters and 3 years; Additional experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
