About the Position:
In an exciting and challenging fast-paced environment, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the day-to-day functions within the Human Resources Department, including maintaining employee relation programs, policies and procedures and employee morale in support of company philosophies. As a federal contractor, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or hold a valid green card.

What You’ll Do:
- Supports the Company philosophy concerning unions and works to maintain a union free environment through the utilization of good supervisory practices.
- Possesses a strong commitment to a safe work environment and practices and maintains adherence to Company Safety Policies through education and accountability.
- Process all company payrolls accurately; compiles payroll data to maintain accurate payroll records.
- Administer benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, life insurance, AD&D, HIPAA, 5500’s, 401(K), and COBRA. This includes payment of invoices, reconciliation of claims for employees, analyzing data and trends on costs.
- Plan and coordinate employee functions including, but not limited to Wellness Fair, Summer Events, Children’s Christmas Party, and other events.
- Responsible for oversight of all legal compliance with Federal, State, and local laws. This includes working with Management to review employee situations involving staffing, discipline, hiring, promotions, employee counseling, policy development and legal guidance to make appropriate business decisions and make recommendations on how to implement or correct a situation.
- Analyze and provides advice to supervisors and managers on methods and approaches to resolve employee work problems.
- Administer employment matters including hiring, new hire orientations and preparation for the Affirmative Action Plan.
- May develop and propose improvement to policies, programs and procedures to improve the effectiveness of human resources and operations.
- Assist others in the department with special projects.
- Assist with the Safety and Workers Compensation programs.
- Maintain all Human Resources records including personnel files and the HRIS system.
- Assists the EQS Safety Specialist in the administration of the EQS Safety Program, including assistance of incident investigations and audits, as needed.
- Assists the Safety Specialist in the effective management of all Workers Compensation Claims in an efficient and compliant manner
- Other projects as requested, including travel (locally and nationally), if required.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent work-related experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of Human Resources generalist experience preferred. Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment preferred. Experience in safety is a plus.
- An active and valid driver's license, or the ability to travel and commute as required.

- Possesses knowledge of laws, government regulations and practices related to human resource functions to include employee relations, compensation and benefits packages, promotion, recruitment and training;
- Strong organizational skills with ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple projects;
- Possess a sense of urgency in executing responsibilities;
- Must be willing and able to go into the production facility on a frequent basis.
- Must be a team player;
- Effective communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills;
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and UltiPro;
- Excellent problem-solving skills and multi-tasking abilities in a fast paced environment; and
- Willingness and ability to work outside of normal work hours.
