ElmCo Industrial Services is Hiring a Millwright Foreman Near Van, OH

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Millwright Foreman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in blueprint reading, quality control, and heavy machinery operations. This position is responsible for leading a team in installing, assembling and maintaining machinery and conveying equipment at industrial and aggricultural facilities.

Essential Duties

· Repair & maintain industrial production or processing machinery & equipment using power tools, hydraulic presses or shears, welding equipment, etc.

· Operate heavy machinery such as man-lifts, forklifts, and cranes.

· Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment.

· Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs.

· Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using various testing devices.

· Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.

· Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery.

· Examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.

· Operate newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.

· Analyze test results, machine error messages, or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.

· Record parts or materials used and order or requisition new parts or materials as necessary.

· Record repairs and maintenance performed.

· Study blueprints or manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation or operation of machinery.

· Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, or assemble new equipment.

· Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance.

· Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.

· Investigate accidents or injuries and prepare reports of findings.

· Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, or replacement parts.

· Inspect, test, and measure completed work, using devices such as hand tools or gauges to verify conformance to standards or repair requirements.

· Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, or maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.

· Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.

· Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as discharges, or disciplinary measures.

· Compile operational or personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair or maintenance statistics, or test results.

· This position requires daily travel to various client worksites within Ohio/Kentucky area. Frequent overnight travel.

· Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

· Employee must be capable of performing skilled labor for up to 12 hours a day.

· Must be knowledgeable and capable of working in confined spaces, at elevated surfaces and on scaffolding, climbing ladders.

· Must be dependable and operate with a high-level of integrity.

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

· This position reports to a Superintendent.

· This position typically has 2-10 direct reports.

Physical Requirements / Working Environment

· This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary (Monday – Sunday with some overnight work) and overtime is frequently required.

· Working environment is oftentimes in harsh elements (hot/humid and/or cold temperatures, rain, etc.) Industrial environments often have exposure to hazardous chemicals, moving heavy equipment, and other safety-sensitive hazards/risks. Must always be alert and able to safely perform the essential duties of the job without risking harm to oneself or others.

· While performing the duties of this job, you will:

o Frequently perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

o Frequently use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, moving materials, and manipulating things.
