Work Shift: Job Description: Role #1: Shipping & Receiving 90% of time Responsibilities: • Prepare shipment to match packing slips • Box parts or get skids ready • Initiate all warehouse shipping and transactions • Ensure all shipments are skidded and packaged to company standards • Be responsible for all outgoing paperwork • Arrange for Courier shipments (i.e. UPS, Purolator) • Collaborate with all team members to ensure relevant information is shared • Expedite deliveries of materials, and understand BOM structures and routings • Act as the communication link between the organization and client vendors (i.e. Updating on changes about expected delivery dates, etc.) • Ensure quality of all incoming products • Receive all products and making sure they are tagged and go to the proper destinations • Keep warehouse supplies stocked • Responsible for all incoming paperwork • Complete some inventory management as related to shipping & receiving. • Ensure accuracy in the ERP program of packing slips and from vendors prior to electronic receiving • Suggest improvements to the ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics NAV) and use the system to streamline work • Communicate with vendors as required in situations involving but not limited to warranty, returns, defects, incorrect parts, etc. • Work in conjunction with all policies and procedures at ELS • Complete work as assigned to the best of your abilities Role #2: General Administration 10% of time Responsibilities: • Ensure customer signature when delivery is complete • Complete reports by required deadlines including driver logbooks, inspection reports (pre-trip, enroute, posttrip), cleaning, maintenance and repair reports, accident or incident reports, company expense reports and time • Maintains telephone contact with Manager/Supervisor to receive any special instructions. • Perform daily inspections on shop forklifts. Education: • Post-secondary education preferred • Computer software courses in Microsoft Word and Excel • Familiar with computers and their requirements Experience: • 3 years of experience in a shipping and receiving department preferred • Ability to read specifications and blueprint drawings is an asset • Demonstrated experience with supplier relationships and negotiation techniques • Previous experience with an ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics NAV an asset) • Knowledge of fabrication and machining processes an asset • Able to interpret information on job orders, as asset • Thorough knowledge of the standard business practices, tools and terminology of purchasing products and services for a manufacturer of custom and standard products Core Competencies, Interpersonal & Intrapersonal Skills: • Have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and to change, to suit Company needs • Be a team player, self-motivated and able to motivate others to reach deadlines • Excellent people and communication skills, both verbal and written • Work independently and interdependently • Good organizational skills with attention to detail • Self-leadership skills • Confidentiality Job Qualifications and Training Requirements: • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently meeting the requirements of timely deadlines • Demonstrates ability to learn technical aspects of products • Previous experience building exceptional vendor relationships • Critical thinking and problem solving • Ability to travel to vendor facilities • Forklift license • Required to maintain valid driver’s license and provide drivers abstract related to company insurance to use or drive any ELS/DT vehicle Working Conditions: • Works in office and manufacturing facility with flexibility for travel to off-site meetings • Usually works a standard forty-four (44) hour work week • May be required to work some overtime hours to attend meetings or meet organizational needs • May experience tight deadlines and stressful conditions at times • Must be able to manage frequent interruptions and multiple tasks daily • Ability to move around factory workstations, and lift from 25 to 50 pounds, walking and up/down stairs • Sitting, working at desk/personal computer for extended periods Looking to build a career with a company that values your input, challenges you to improve yourself, and offers you opportunities to grow and learn?
