Job Title: Structural Steel and Miscellaneous Metals Estimator

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Structural Steel and Miscellaneous Metals Estimator to join our expanding team. In this role, you will be crucial in the pre-construction phase, ensuring precise cost estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metal components.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed material take-offs based on structural and architectural drawings.
• Analyze project specifications to determine required steel and miscellaneous metals.
• Obtain competitive quotes from vendors as necessary.
• Develop comprehensive cost estimates, considering material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
• Prepare proposals and bids for potential projects.
• Participate in value engineering discussions to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain accurate project cost records and monitor project budgets.
• Collaborate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural steel and miscellaneous metals estimating.
• Proven ability to interpret complex architectural and structural drawings.
• Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication processes and industry standards.
• Proficiency in steel estimating software (e.g., Strumis, Tekla PowerFab) is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
