As the Catering Sales Manager on our team, you will complete a variety of tasks which will include:
- Work closely with the Director of Sales to sell events and maximize revenue.
- Self-driven and knowledgeable individual that knows the market.
- Responsible for banquet and meeting room revenue and accountable to a market performance and meeting budget, forecast, and optimal business mix targets.
- Actively seek new business using marketing campaigns, telemarketing, e-commerce, site visits and other methods.
- Actively participate in meetings with corporate and leisure clients, provide site tours and build rapport.
- Initiate solicitation efforts of the sales function through effective oral and written communication while overseeing rate, date and space commitments for group room sales within the hotel.
- Quote group rates, prepare group contracts and delegate front desk staff / groups coordinator to enter block into RDP.
- Compile and/or direct the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales function to include, but not limited to the annual and monthly forecast, lead and productivity, function calendars, group booking pace report, STAR reports and sales meeting minutes when applicable.
- Ongoing research of the event industry to detect market trends and related information for development of new marketing strategies.
- Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.
- Work strategically with other departments on property to create meaningful guest experiences.
- Professionally represent the hotel in community and industry organizations and events.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- Sales experience in a hotel of similar level required.
- May work weekends, some nights and holidays.
- Positive, team focused, guest service centered leadership attitude.
- Knowledge of travel industry, current market trends and economic factors.
- Competitive salary starting at $56,500.
