Job Title : Custodian (ARLIS) Hours : M-F : am - pm

Job Summary : EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for a Custodian at the Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence and Security (ARLIS) in College Park , MD, for a Temporary Assignment lasting approximately months and potentially converting to permanent.

The hours are Monday through Friday from : am - pm. Must hold a Secret or Top Secret clearance to be considered

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Duty Schedule : M-F : am- : pm
• Assists the Project Manager in ordering departmental supplies.
• Keeps building and property in clean and orderly condition.
• Completes all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains daily upkeep of assigned areas and equipment.
• Performs routine maintenance activities.
• Performs heavy cleaning duties.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuums floors.
• Gathers and empties trash.
• Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.
• Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment.
• Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.
• Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Cleans and polishes fixtures and furniture.
• Shampoos or steam-cleans carpets and rugs.
• Restocks toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, etc.

Qualifications :

• Must hold an active Secret or Top Secret clearance.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two () or more years’ experience in housekeeping on Commercial-Industrial or Government building equipment.
• Experience and knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents in English.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly walk for extended periods; required to sit; use hands to finger, handle;

or feel; reach with hands and arms; talks or hear and test or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.
