EMCS has a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Transportation Engineering Project Manager to join our Milwaukee team. At EMCS personal and professional growth thrive in a culture that encourages innovation through flexible thinking and collaboration.  This is an opportunity to be involved with a variety of design projects including freeways, urban streets, rural roadways, bikeways, complete streets, pedestrian improvements, multi-use paths, traffic calming, and developments. Responsibilities include project oversight (scope development, contracting, budgeting, invoicing), technical design, coordination of project assignments, oversight of the efforts of project staff, and client relationship development. This position offers excellent growth potential for a self-directed engineering professional with a passion for transforming challenges into solutions.

EMCS is a full-service multidiscipline civil engineering firm with offices in Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan. For over 40 years we have been providing quality planning, design, and field services to both the public and private sector. Our service areas include transportation planning and design, traffic, structural design, environmental, mapping and platting, survey, and construction for projects large and small. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in the civil engineering field
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Wisconsin (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • Experience as project manager or lead roadway engineer on DOT and municipal projects (experience on transportation projects in Wisconsin is a plus)
  • Technical competence in developing and managing project budgets
  • Client relationships and business development experience
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/OpenRoads 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license
