Key Responsibilities
- Direct field testing and service on all substation equipment to include: transformers, voltage regulators, circuit switchers, circuit breakers, protective relays, instrument transformers and other equipment per manufacturer's recommendations.
- Testing of electrical power equipment; high/medium/low voltage.
- Compile test results and create detailed reports for all tests, repairs and maintenance completed.
- Ability to read manuals, wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot and solve equipment issues.
- Proper handling and disposal of oils, solvents and other liquid compounds.
- Operate forklift, overhead crane and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Must be willing to travel throughout the Emerald Transformer service territory. Overnight and extended stays near customer locations are required.
- Must be willing to work overtime and call-in hours to meet all customer needs. This includes evening and weekend responses to emergency calls as required.
- Honest, trustworthy and reliable.
- Hardworking.
- Physical ability to preform heavy work, exerting up to 100lbs of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50lbs force frequently.
- Comfortable working in extreme heat and cold.
- Knowledge of the power distribution equipment and their service/repair preferred.
- Experience with the following equipment:
- Power Factor
- CT Tester
- TTR
- Breaker Analyzer
- Megger
- Winding Resistance
- Hi-Pot
- Relay Tester
- Contact Resistance
- Recloser Control Tester
- Regulator Control Tester
- Omicron and Vanguard Instruments Test Equipment
- Welding experience preferred.
- Valid US Driver's license with good driving record.
