Overview

Emerald is seeking an Account Executive to support our Blockchain Futurist Conference, the largest and most high-profile blockchain & cryptocurrency event in Canada (and launching soon in the U.S.) that unites a global audience of attendees with startups, investors, developers, enterprise leaders, financial institutions, researchers, academics and emerging tech pioneers to build the future.

The Account Executive for Blockchain Futurist Conference is responsible for exhibit, sponsorship, and advertising revenue. As a true hunter, you will prospect new opportunities, develop those leads, build relationships, and close sales, all while maintaining an active pipeline of opportunities. In addition to exhibit sales, you’ll support the VP of Sales in servicing existing accounts. The Account Executive needs to be in tune with the industry we support, with the ability to raise solutions that deepen customer engagement.

The best candidate for the Account Executive role will be a confident salesperson with strong interpersonal skills presented equally well in person and virtually. You will need to be an active listener and take a strategic consultative selling approach to ensure that your clients achieve the best possible results at our event. You also need to be a team player and have an appetite for research and self-discovery to become an expert in the active-wear market.

This position can be performed remotely, however candidates on the East Coast will be given first preference.

Responsibilities
  • Sell exhibit space, sponsorships, and digital opportunities via face-to-face visits, telephone calls and electronic communications to meet – and exceed – sales targets
  • Work with the VP of Sales to develop sales strategy and tactics
  • Execute sales strategies and implement sales campaigns to maximize exhibit space and sponsorship sales
  • Hunt for, uncover, and generate leads in new exhibitor markets to yield new business; grow and maintain prospecting data base
  • Continuously analyze the needs of current clients and work with leadership to propose programs that meet those needs to successfully expand client business at Emerald’s events and maximize their ROI, while continuing to grow account base YOY.
  • Keeps CRM updated with proposals, contracts, order entry, contacts entry, updates to contacts and comprehensive client notes
  • Assists billing and collections team to support collection process
  • Provides detailed and accurate sales forecasting including proactive sharing of updates, risks and opportunities
  • Works closely with the VP of Sales to implement effective rebooking processes and onsite sales strategies
  • Build strong relationships with influential and/or advocate accounts
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the VP of Sales per the needs of the shows
Qualifications

• Demonstrated sales success from prospect to close in a highly consultative environment; tradeshow and/or activewear industry sales experience preferred
• Demonstrated success "hunting" and closing new business
• CRM management experience with the ability to effectively enter and maintain a sales pipeline; Salesforce strongly preferred
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with an ability to cultivate an atmosphere of collaboration, integrity, trust, diversity, and respect
• Ability to collaborate and engage successfully with multiple functional groups (marketing, operations, finance/billing, Sr. Leadership team, etc.)
• Proactive, accountable, driven work style with a natural desire to provide high-end customer service
• Team player with a "no task is too small" attitude
• Proficiency in the Microsoft office suite
• Willingness/ability to travel overnight up to 25% of the time as well as local travel as required to meet with prospective clients, trendspotting, and attending industry events
• Required: Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in Event Sponsorship Sales, including selling exhibitor booths, branding opportunities, online and onsite promotions, and adeptness in tailoring packages to meet sponsors' needs.
• Preferred: Knowledge or experience in the Web3 industry, particularly in marketing, community management, or sales roles. Candidates with experience in communicating within the Web3 ecosystem via platforms such as Telegram are highly valued. Those with a keen interest in learning about the Web3 and blockchain industry are also encouraged to apply.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Target Compensation: $70,000-$80,000 (Sales Incentive Eligible)

Please note that this range reflects a reasonable estimate of the target compensation for this position. This range may ultimately vary based on a candidate’s qualifications and may be higher where required by applicable law.
