Emerge Inc. is Hiring a Production Supervisor - 2nd shift - New position! Near Hampton, VA

Emerge is currently recruiting qualified candidates for a direct hire 2nd shift Production Supervisor job in Hampton, VA for our client, a manufacturer of highly technical castings for aerospace and industrial applications. This is a new position due to growth and adding a new shift next quarter. The Production Supervisor will report to the Manufacturing Manager and is responsible for providing leadership in manufacturing excellence, ensuring customer satisfaction and continuous improvement of responsible areas’ performance measurements (quality, productivity, cycle time, delivery, and cash flow). You will supervise and coordinate activities of team leaders and skilled workers engaged in production in a union environment, and establish and coordinate departmental activities to meet objectives, plant goals and business metrics. Our client offers a salary of $85,000 to $98,000 per year, a bonus program, opportunities for career growth and excellent benefits.
Responsibilities for the 2nd shift Production Supervisor job in Hampton, VA include:
  • The Production Supervisor is required to follow all company safety regulations, work rules and all departmental specific requirements.
  • Examines castings and products at various stages of processing procedures for conformance to both internal and external specifications.
  • Provides leadership, guidance, training and mentoring to team to accomplish production goals. Involves associates in team building activities.
  • Conducts employee training, practices incident prevention techniques, facilitates between Managers, EHS resources, employees and conducts self-inspections with verification regarding compliance.
  • Explains specifications, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Utilizes Continuous Improvement to improve efficiencies.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Estimates, provides requisitions for, and inspects materials. Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Establishes project plans and coordinates activities for continuous improvement initiatives. Makes recommendations for employee status (hiring / terminations and promotions of employees.
  • Resolves grievances and employee relations issues as they arise. Completes performance evaluations on his/her employees as required. Administers employee corrective action for his/her employees.
  • Responsible for training and mentoring team leaders for their individual development. Must comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines; this includes, but is not limited to, regular attendance and occasional overtime.
  • Maintains measurement/metrics for departmental performance.
Qualifications:
  • This position requires a minimum of a High School diploma/G.E.D. but our client prefers a college degree in Business or Management-related field so candidates can progress into career promotions with the company.
  • Experience with team building, leadership, cost reduction/cost analysis and problem resolution preferred. Ability to read and follow work instructions. Must have demonstrated leadership abilities and/or experience.
  • This position requires a minimum of three years related manufacturing experience in a leadership role.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status; ITAR defines U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., "Green Card Holder"), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
