Headquartered in Plymouth, HVA provides EMS to portions of Wayne and Oakland counties along with several large-scale special events, including Plymouth Art in the Park and USA Hockey events. Our paramedics typically work 12 or 24-hour shifts and provide both emergent and non-emergent transport, delivering patient care under hospital-approved medical protocols. Additional opportunities for paramedics include training in critical care transport and community paramedicine. HVA also has opportunities within our specialty teams including HazMat medical response, technical rescue, honor guard, tactical EMS, and bicycle medic teams.

Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid State of Michigan paramedic license
- ACLS, CPR, and PHTLS or ITLS certified (PHTLS can be provided upon hire)
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Physically capable of meeting job requirements: lifting and moving patients, carrying medical equipment
- Ability to pass a company-sponsored background check, drug screen, and physical
- Ability to work professionally and cooperatively with a diverse range of people
- Maintain high clinical standards in all aspects of care.
- Safely drive and operate ambulances.
- Provide basic life support, including CPR, airway, suction, oxygen application, bleeding control, splinting, bandaging, etc.
- Provide advanced life support, including ACLS, airway management, medication administration, IV administration, etc.
- Provide convalescent care, including transporting sick, injured, and convalescent patients to and from medical facilities.
- Proficiently and safely perform patient handling, including stretcher operations, lifting, and loading.
- Treat patients with compassion and respect.
- Interact professionally and courteously with patients, family members, facility staff, and co-workers.

Emergent Health Partners is a nonprofit emergency medical services organization providing ALS and BLS EMS services to 1.1 million people in 14 counties of southern Michigan. Emergent Health operates out of Ann Arbor, Michigan with additional regional headquarters in Plymouth, Jackson, Battle Creek, and Monroe. In 2018, Emergent Health expanded to Michigan's west side when LifeCare Ambulance of Battle Creek was added to the organization. This new growth made Emergent Health Partners the largest EMS provider in Michigan. Emergent Health Partners operates with over 100 ambulances and close to 600 licensed EMTs and paramedics. All of Emergent Healths EMS operations are accredited by CAAS - the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services. Of the 13,000 ambulance services currently operating in the United States, fewer than 200 are presently CAAS accredited. Maintaining CAAS accreditation assures that Emergent Health Partners prioritizes up-to-date and well-maintained equipment, rigorous employee training, and high-level hiring requirements in order to provide the communities we serve with exemplary pre-hospital emergency care.
