Job Summary
Reporting to the Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer, assumes 24-hour responsibility and accountability for the delivery of professional nursing care and the allocation of resources that will include: the Operating Rooms, Endoscopy Suite, Central Sterile, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Surgical Weight Loss Program, and the Surgical Day Suite. As the director of these service areas, this individual assures that there is adequate management of human and fiscal resources to ensure appropriate staffing and skill mix, and sufficient equipment and supplies to meet the nursing care needs of the patient population served by these areas. The Director coordinates and integrates services within their department and with the hospitals primary functions. Directs the quality and continuity of patient care in these areas in order to provide comprehensive care appropriate to the type and age of the population served.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Graduate of an accredited professional nursing school required.
Bachelor’s degree and certification in clinical specialty required strongly preferred.
Masters degree in nursing, business, public health, or healthcare administration strongly preferred.
Experience
Minimum of five years experience in a leadership position in perioperative services required.
Licensure and/or Certification
Current license to practice professional nursing in Massachusetts required.
BLS healthcare provider required.
Skills
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Must have exceptional analytical and numerical ability. Excellent customer service skills.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
Computer skills required (including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Ability to maintain confidential information.
