Your Role: Leading the Estimating Process As a Senior Estimator at Emery Sapp & Sons, you will lead the estimating process from start to finish, preparing detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for construction projects. Your expertise in construction estimating, coupled with strong analytical and communication skills, will ensure the accuracy and completeness of our project estimates.
Responsibilities
- Project Review: Review project plans, specifications, and other project documents to determine the scope of work and estimate costs accurately.
- Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that estimates align with project requirements and objectives.
- Cost Monitoring: Monitor and analyze project costs, identifying and addressing potential cost overruns proactively.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and wear protective gear as required to ensure a safe working environment.
- Communication: Communicate regularly with other crew members, subcontractors, and clients to ensure that work is completed on schedule and within budget.
- Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships with clients and subcontractors to ensure awareness of project schedules and deadlines.
- Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve issues that arise during construction projects promptly and effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in a construction setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to accurately estimate project costs.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences.
- Experience with government contracts and compliance is a plus.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as InEight, Agg Tech, Plan Swift, and Blue Beam.
