JOB DETAILS:Shift1st/Day ShiftLocationOn-SiteScheduleSchedule to be provided by leaderSalary Range$23.58 - $27.75 Per Hour JOB SUMMARY: Assist clients, vendors, and drivers delivering, loading, unloading, and moving machines and components. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Supervises and provides leadership for assigned team and supporting resources. Conducts annual performance appraisals for assigned employees.Supervises a team that is responsible for loading, unloading, and moving machines and components following department guidelines and procedures.Assists clients, vendors, and truck drivers delivering or picking up machines and components. Loads, unloads, and moves all sizes of machines and components from trucks and storage areas. Assists less experienced people and teach them safe handling techniques.Inspects each machine and maintains records of any damages before the machine is moved. Maintains machine inventory in the yard and display areas. Reports any machine problems to appropriate lead person or supervisor. Follows up on reported machine problems.Maintains working knowledge of functionality, safety awareness and risks involved while operating heavy equipment including height and width restrictions.Maintains yard, storage, and office areas with minimal direction. Assists operations in maintaining a clean, safe, and uncluttered yard. Keeps keys for machines in proper locations. Assists supervisor with forklift inventory and consistently maintains forklifts or initiates repairs.Create an environment of ownership and personal accountability where each person is responsible and accountable for their performance.Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensures assigned employees are trained, motivated and functioning according to their job description.Must be willing to work any shift, weekends, and overtime. Must be willing to assist in other areas/departments as requested by supervisor.Must be willing to work in extreme weather conditions at a variety of tasks.Must be willing to safely operate large machines, forklifts, and cranes and attend equipment operation classes.Performs other duties as assigned and properly performed as directed within the time limits set.Works within and promotes corporate values. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Familiarity with Empire facilities’ layout and department functions.Uses professional interpersonal skills to select, supervise, train and develop subordinates.Experience with heavy equipment and working knowledge of functionality, safety awareness and risks involved while operating heavy equipment including height and width restrictions.Must have interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to oversee, motivate, direct, train and evaluate people.Must have acceptable attendance to meet all company standards and requirements. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).Valid driver’s license.Previous experience operating forklifts, cranes, and heavy equipment.Previous experience using a computer-based record system.Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
