empirical is Hiring a Financial Analyst Near Washington, DC

Summary: The Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting program personnel and assisting in preparing and compiling customers' monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. This includes developing materials and documents to support, explain, and brief client personnel, which is highly valued and integral to our team's operations.
Responsibilities
  • Develop position papers, review financial data, provide populations and sample items for analysis, and provide recommendations and solutions for improving processes and validation efforts—draft and update policies and procedures about financial reporting analyses.
  • Develop and implement recommendations and solutions to address issues, inefficiencies, and challenges identified during the analyses, audit, and internal control findings.
  • Provide financial management and accounting support and advice. Prepare narratives, white papers, position papers, and briefings.
  • Utilize accounting and financial management knowledge to assist in identifying areas that pose a risk to the client.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance is required
  • 1 year of federal financial management experience supporting financial statement audit activities
  • 1 year of experience with CGI Momentum financial ,acquisition and budget solution.
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive research and analysis of technical and general ledger accountant and preparations of federal financial statements and notes
  • Ability to read and interpret financial accounting and management policy, regulations, and directives
  • Ability to develop point papers, briefing materials, and graphical presentations and to make formal oral presentations of these materials to all levels of government personnel.
  • Ability to advise management on different financial and operational services options, including budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
  • Fast learner with the willingness to learn new tasks and business functions
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively, including the ability to deliver presentations and recommendations to others, including internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to occasionally work extra hours to meet deadlines
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance. U.S. Citizenship required
