Position Summary:
We are looking for a qualified HR Generalist (HR Advisor) in Oklahoma City to support human resources projects and provide effective human capital guidance to the consulting team and clients.
This person will also provide employee relations services and works on a variety of assignments while supporting and maintaining a book of business. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of human resource management and have experience dealing with actual HR issues. They will be strategic thinkers and problem-solvers with excellent communication skills. This position is responsible for advising on all employee relations matters and HR functions for their client base, collaborating with team members to assist with HR functions for their respective region and client base.
The ideal candidate will be motivated by team success, have strong communication, customer service, and human resource skills, and the ability to work in a high-volume and fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and production requirements. They will offer exceptional customer service by providing HR solutions to clients and team members virtually or face-to-face and resolving their needs accurately and timely.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships through regularly scheduled proactive client meetings with a defined book of business.
  • Effectively review and process a wide range of HR requests and transactions, including but not limited to employee handbooks, job descriptions, salary surveys, content creation, policy development, and employee relations matters.
  • Handle basic to complex HR questions, research and retrieve information, document work in our CRM system, and respond to all inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Provide consultative human resources services regarding employee relations and employee grievances, including practical experience managing claims from initiation to disposition. Experience being part of depositions and working with state agencies such as EEOC and ADA is a huge plus.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Deliver high-touch account management services, including the coordination of timely resolution to client inquiries by working closely with internal department teams, ensuring client satisfaction is achieved.
  • Develop human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information; recommending courses of action.
  • Manage benefits open enrollment activities for the designated book of business.
  • Prepare, facilitate, and/or conduct HR-related trainings with clients.
  • Oversee and conduct timely investigations, prepare documentation, and make recommendations.
  • Properly and timely document all client-related interactions in the CRM and HRIS.
  • Ensure compliance under federal and state regulations and law.
  • On-site client visits and trainings.
  • Some travel.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of HR Generalist/HR Specialist experience.
  • Experience with employee relations, performance management, terminations, investigations, and disciplinary counseling required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in HR best practices with knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Coaching, counseling, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and demonstrated ability to learn other applications as needed.
  • Must have reliable transportation and ability to travel to client sites.
Desired Qualifications
  • PHR or SHRM CP Certification or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
