Employment Development Department has an exciting opportunity for a Network Administrator on our Network Operations team. The incumbent will have a journeyman level of knowledge and experience in the Information Technology field to provide second level support, planning, configuration, installation, troubleshooting and testing for hardware and software upgrades. As a team member of Network Operations, the incumbent will perform complex analysis to identify the best IT solutions to troubleshoot escalated incidents and remediate security vulnerabilities on client devices and printers. The successful candidate will perform complex technical activities as relates to support of multi-functional devices, printers, desktops, laptops, and software across the state.

Headquarters Office Locations:
The incumbent will perform work indoors in a climate-controlled environment under artificial lighting. The incumbent may be required to work for extended periods of time in a computer room that maintains an approximate temperature of 70 degrees. This position is located in the heart of downtown Sacramento at EDD's headquarters office at 800 Capitol Mall, Sacramento, California. The office is walking distance to the Light Rail, farmer's market during summer months, and an eclectic collection of retailers, restaurants and entertainment like the Golden 1 Center, the State Capitol and museums.

Background Investigation Requirement
The position(s) may require an applicant to pass a background investigation. However, applicants will not be asked to provide information about a conviction history unless they receive a conditional offer of employment.
The department will make an individualized assessment of whether the conviction history has a direct or adverse relationship with the specific duties of the job and the work performed by the department. The department will consider potential mitigating factors, including, but not limited to, evidence and extent of rehabilitation, recency, nature and seriousness, and age at the time of the offense(s).
The investigation will consist of completion of a personal history statement and fingerprinting checks with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Justice, and/or local law enforcement agencies. Anyone failing to pass the background investigation will be provided information on how to appeal the process. A criminal conviction may not result in an automatic determination of "Not Qualified."
