We are seeking a Vice President of Clinical Services to join our growing Team! This position will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer. The Vice President of Clinical Services will support our facilities in the following states (Georgia, Louisiana, Alabama and Tennessee) in providing the nursing knowledge and skills necessary to maintain high standards of resident care. The incumbent will assess, plans, evaluate, advise, and recommend actions to be taken by the facility for multiple clinical areas (Nursing, Social Services, Activities and Dietary) to ensure the highest level of outcome of resident care and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Provide regular on-site managerial, clinical, budgetary, and educational direct/consultation to selected facilities
  • Assist facility staff in evaluating resident care for compliance with policies and procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of RAI manual guidelines and / or MDS certification to provide support, training and guidance to Facility MDS directors
  • Conduct periodic regulatory mock surveys to assure compliance and Implements and coordinates necessary corrective measures
  • Facilitate and approve the development of regulatory plans of correction in conjunction with the Director of Nursing Services and Administrator
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of clinical initiatives in the facility
  • Develop and effective QAPI program and monitor Quality Measures which reflect clinical standards of practice and quality of care
  • Attend facility QAPI meetings at least quarterly
  • Communicate and report findings to Chief Operating Officer based on observation, audits and trends
  • Develop and implement new programs, CQI policies and Procedures
  • Assist in the integration of customer service that enhances quality of service and customer satisfaction
  • Prepare monthly reports including progress, facility visits, and arears of concentration
  • Present federal and state regulations and corporate policy affecting facility operations
  • Participate in the selection, orientation an ongoing development of Directors of Nursing Service
  • Attend meetings, serve on committees and perform various other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer.
    h2. Qualifications:
  • Valid, unencumbered Registered Nurse state license required
  • Nursing degree from accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a nursing supervisor of managerial capacity within nursing home and skilled nursing environment
  • Must possess multi-facility experience. Multi-state experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated clinical assessment skills and skilled care requirements and guidelines
  • Strong knowledge of the Prospective Payment System, RUG classification criteria and CMI
  • Strong knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long term care and Medicare reimbursement guidelines
  • Knowledge of Medicare regulations and coverage guidelines as regulated to skilled nursing
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc. necessary for quality care
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the resident served
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
  • Strong leadership and supervisory ability, and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
  • Communication, facilitation and presentation skills a must
  • Ability to travel
  • Supervise and Lead Regional Clinical Directors and Corporate Director of MDS Reimbursement
