Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Include the following. Other duties may be assigned
  • Provides supervision and support and expertise to OST Site Coordinators at selected sites.
  • Support the planning, supervise and implement a well-rounded, academically aligned curriculum (including objectives, lesson plans and evaluation) for the sites, i.e. project based learning, health and wellness activities, homework support
  • Develop, plan and supervise activities during school vacation weeks alongside other
  • Directors and Coordinators, and other days off from school.
  • Support planning and implementation of the Summer Learning Program and Camp
  • Provide short and long term planning in accordance with the policies and philosophies of PYS Out of School Time programming
  • Provide direction and guidance to staff, aid in staff training and conduct staff meetings. Supervise site staff and provide written evaluation of their work performance
  • Developing and overseeing an individualized training plan for each staff person in conjunction with PYS guidance Senior OST Director Post Cont.
  • Responsible for supervising and demonstrating the ability to set and maintain limits for children using positive reinforcement
  • Create systems and processes when needed, particularly around staff coverage, data collection, recruitment and retention
  • Responsible for meeting monthly recruitment and budgetary goals for all assigned sites
  • Responsible for collection of data and inputting into central data base, uses data for decision making and program improvement
  • Supervise proper maintenance of equipment, clean-up of work and play areas and inventory and ordering of supplies and snacks
  • Plan and implement, with staff, monthly parent engagement activities
  • Create yearly goals and objectives to be maintained and discussed regularly with supervisor.
  • Maintain the necessary records involving attendance, proper release procedures, program registrations and documents required for state licensing; as well as collecting and maintaining records of all child care payments
  • Work in harmony and cooperation with all appropriate staff, volunteers and members of the YMCA
  • Ensure that the proper procedures regarding vehicle use are followed at all times
  • Responsible for attending staff meetings/events. Demonstrate and teach the character development values of caring, respect, responsibility and honesty
  • Continually enhance professional development through workshops, educational courses and/or appropriate reading material/ Licensing requires the completion of a minimum of 20 hours training per year relevant to the care of school age children
  • Ensures that all assigned sites are strictly following DCYF and YMCA policies, protocols and expectation.
  • Responsible for program observations in order to continually improve operations and quality.
