Position Summary

Empower is on the lookout for a visionary Vice President of Talent Development, a pivotal role that will reshape and invigorate our approach to nurturing and unleashing the potential within our teams. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead, design, and execute the enterprise talent development strategy and service delivery model focused on optimizing the employee experience and their impact on business outcomes, and increasing organizational capacity and capability.
  • Engage Empower Pharmacy’s executive and senior leadership teams to design and implement a talent philosophy and people strategy to serve as the foundation for aligned talent systems that support the development of Empower Pharmacy team members.
  • Audit current talent development practices and identify ways to evolve our practices by staying current with the latest trends and providing recommendations and insights based on industry best practices.
  • Recommend and lead improvements to the overall talent development lifecycle to improve the employee experience.
  • Provide subject matter expert and process ownership for end-to-end talent development processes including the following: talent systems and infrastructure, onboarding, employee retention, training and development, career planning and performance management, success management, learning and development, capability and competency management, workforce planning, and employee experience and engagement.
  • Lead and mentor the talent development team to design and implement leadership development and training programs, onboarding programs, coaching programs, succession planning, career path development and performance management.
  • Collaborate with People Partners to ensure alignment and consistent execution of key talent programs across Empower Pharmacy in order to retain the best team members.
  • Provide thought leadership and recommendations to the organization’s talent strategies using data to drive talent solutions.
  • Lead efforts to enhance the organizational bench strength and retention of key talent.
  • Build and deliver Empower University programs that drive functional expertise and maximizes organizational effectiveness and efficiency to support retention.
  • Measure the effectiveness of talent programs and initiatives.
  • Use data and insights to make recommendations for new programs and initiatives and improving existing ones.
  • Implement recommendations with close alignment to the business.
  • Manage relationships with senior leaders for continuous stakeholder engagement with talent programs and initiatives.
  • Manage and motivate the talent development and development team to set priorities, assign accountability, and assess and enhance ongoing performance.
  • Continuously evaluate opportunities to improve quality, process, tools, and experience across the talent development portfolio.
  • Re-define and re-design our talent development policies and processes based on input from stakeholders.
  • Hire, lead, and manage the talent development team and create a culture of accountability and performance through operational efficiencies, effectiveness, and experience.
  • Provide effective performance feedback for direct reports by establishing clear goals and expectations, including adherence to standards; hold direct reports accountable for results.
  • Source, contract, and collaborate with internal and external subject matter / content experts, business partners, and vendors on the design of leadership and teammate development initiatives.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, service and project delivery based on established service level agreements and performance metrics and continually review and manage vendor performance.
  • Implement innovative technology solutions to drive improved accessibility of talent and career development resources for team members.
  • Maintain data integrity for best reporting through our talent system as the source of truth and insights that help shape strategies and processes.
  • Partner with the VP of Talent Acquisition, VP of People Operations and Experience, VP of People Partnering, and IT, as well as relevant departments, to drive seamless integration into the onboarding experience.
  • Measure and monitor talent development KPI’s to identify areas for improvement and work collaboratively with HR.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or similar field (Psychology, Organizational Development) from an accredited four-year college is required.
  • Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or similar field (I/O Psychology, Organizational Development) is preferred
  • 15 years of talent management and development experience
  • 5 years of leadership experience in talent management and development
  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), Certified Executive Coach, Korn Ferry Assessments, preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience using Talent and Human Resources systems and competency models, preferably Korn Ferry.
