As the Director for MG-ALFA Modeling, you will manage the MG-ALFA modeling efforts and ensure a nimble modeling solution which can be utilized cross-functionally across the enterprise. The modeling use cases include, but are not limited to, IFRS financial reporting reserves/metrics, U.S. Statutory reserves, and related regulatory analyses such as the modeling supporting asset adequacy analysis, tax reserves, and Asset-Liability Management (ALM) metrics and related strategic analyses. This leader is accountable for the continued evolution and transformation of our MG-ALFA models, incorporating robust modeling features related to participant and plan level behavior and demographic trends.

What you will do:

  • Lead a team of modeling professionals, directly and indirectly, to proactively manage model development and ensures quality and timeliness of modeling deliverables
  • Instill best practices in terms of model inputs, model updates, technical criteria, report templates, validation, and review, etc.
  • Drive further development and implementation of models which are efficient and simplistic while incorporating the depth of functionality needed to appropriately model our product offerings
  • Working in collaboration with our Actuarial Transformation team, identify and execute upon process improvements and automation relating to all actuarial models
  • Strong collaboration with all stakeholders including ALM, Risk, Valuation, Actuarial Operations, Finance, etc. Partner closely with various stakeholders (e.g., Head of Valuation, Risk, and Investments) to achieve innovative modeling solutions and processes to meet business needs and regulatory changes
  • Drive advanced analytics capability and scalability to support possible future acquisitions, new products, etc.
  • Constantly seeking efficiency across actuarial models in terms of modeling approaches, management of model update processes, etc.
  • Promote and develop cross-training efforts to develop skills of all team members across all actuarial model platforms (i.e., primarily Axis and MG-Alfa)

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in actuarial modeling
  • FSA required
  • Strong expertise in actuarial modeling and systems
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements and underlying calculations/modeling thereof (e.g., IFRS, US Statutory, US Taxation)

  • Strong project management skills, with a focus on execution within a reasonable timeline
  • Depth and/or breadth of expertise in own discipline (i.e. actuarial modeling) and broad knowledge of retirement products
  • Strong verbal and written communication; communication skills to influence/negotiate internally and often at higher levels
  • Consults with senior leadership on technical subject material.
  • Ability to present complex concepts and analysis to a variety of audiences including company leaders

Base Salary Range

$132,600.00 - $192,300.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
