POSITION: Director of Mental Health Services

SUPERVISORY CHAIN OF COMMAND

POSITION PURPOSE

Empowering Youth, Inc, is seeking a Director of Mental Health Services who will oversee the daily operations, data collection and entry performance monitoring, referrals, service coordination, effective linkages with community agencies, resources, and serve as school/parent liaison.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform a wide variety of clinical, supervisory, management and directorial activities as directed by the EYI’s Board Members.
• Provide supervision and management to their clinical team, which may consist of professionals and paraprofessionals who provide mental health and/or substance abuse counseling services and other educational related services.
• Managing all aspects of their particular program and staff.
• Oversight of clinical quality, utilization, chart compliance, policy and procedure compliance and any other administrative task assigned to them by the Program Director, Executive Director or Board
• Maintain relationships with schools and our referral sources.
• Meet regularly with his/her staff.
• Lead and collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team to oversee the formulation of individualized treatment plans, to staff cases clinically, and assist in coordinating discharge planning.
• The principal functions of the position identified shall not be considered as a complete description of all the work requirements and expectations that may be inherent in the position.

POSITION’S ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Member of Empowering management team
• On-call for site when assistance is necessary
• Contributes to orientation and training for new employees identified for each site
• Knowledge of Medicaid regulations and DSM-IV, as well as updated revisions
• Maintain ongoing chart audits to ensure compliance and quality assurance of services provided
• Maintains communication and contact with staff to monitor programmatic strengths and weaknesses
• Provides clinical supervision and administrative oversight to clinicians under their chain of command.
• Provide clinical supervision to School-based clinicians by being knowledgeable about Miami-Dade School’s policies and procedures regarding school-bases services.
• Moderate traveling locally within Miami-Dade County

EDUCATIONAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Graduation from an accredited university with a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling

• Licensed in the State of Florida in a discipline of Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family or Psychology.
• Must have knowledge of the principles and practices of the discipline
• Must have knowledge of Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Medicaid
• Must have a minimum of 3 years experience working with the population that they are assigned to
• Must have a minimum of 1 year supervisory experience
• Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written skills
• Ability to work with diverse groups and individuals in order to facilitate participation toward common goals and objectives
• General Computer skills
• Maintains current annual training requirements
• Must successfully complete all criminal background screens annually

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $64,000.00 per year
