THE OPPORTUNITY:

You will work from the perspective of your lived experience to help build environments conducive to recovery. You will make a difference because you will promote hope, personal responsibility, empowerment, education, and self-determination in the communities where you serve. You are trained to assist others in skill-building, problem-solving, setting up and maintaining self-help mutual support groups, and building self-directed recovery tools. Say YES to supporting others in developing their recovery goals, and specific steps to reach those goals.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

CPS performs a wide range of tasks to support consumers in living their own lives and directing their own recovery and wellness process. The CPS will model competency in recovery and wellness. 

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE:

Must be a Certified Peer Specialist.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Microsoft Office: Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Adobe.
  • Document Design and Layout skills. 
  • Electronic mail software — Email software; Microsoft Exchange

MEDICAL SCREENING:

  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check 
  • Must submit verification of completion of the following current health screenings
    1. Influenza immunization
    2. Tuberculin Skin Test (TB) within the past 12 months
    3. HBV immunization

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. STANDARD HOURS: 8am – 5pm.

SALARY RANGE: Salary is contingent upon available funding, and is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

JOB LOCATION: The position is based in the Atlanta metropolitan area and requires the employee to work at the Empowerment Resource Center office.
