I.SummaryThe Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for moving, processing and loading material into trucks. Duties include completing required daily equipment reports, daily maintenance and inspection, ensuring a clean and orderly workplace. This career requires understanding of basic maintenance and repair techniques of heavy equipment, the ability to make precise movements with equipment controls, as well as the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operates material handler and or excavator to move, process, and load material into trucks.
- Completes all required daily equipment reports.
- Performs daily maintenance and inspection on equipment.
- Adheres to all operating and safety protocols.
- Ensures a clean and orderly work place by removing debris and possible hazards.
- Other job duties as assigned.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Proficiency is operating heavy machinery such as material handler or excavator.
- Understanding of basic maintenance and repair techniques to ensure machinery operators efficiently and safely.
- Ability to make precise movements with equipment controls, ensuring accuracy and safety.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or GED-equivalent preferred.
- At least two years of previous experience running heavy equipment.
- Prior scrap metal industry experience preferred.
