Join us and be a part of a team that puts people first! I.SummaryThe Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for moving, processing and loading material into trucks. Duties include completing required daily equipment reports, daily maintenance and inspection, ensuring a clean and orderly workplace. This career requires understanding of basic maintenance and repair techniques of heavy equipment, the ability to make precise movements with equipment controls, as well as the ability to work independently and in a team environment. II. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operates material handler and or excavator to move, process, and load material into trucks.
Completes all required daily equipment reports.
Performs daily maintenance and inspection on equipment.
Adheres to all operating and safety protocols.
Ensures a clean and orderly work place by removing debris and possible hazards.
Other job duties as assigned.
III.Required Skills / Abilities
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Proficiency is operating heavy machinery such as material handler or excavator.
Understanding of basic maintenance and repair techniques to ensure machinery operators efficiently and safely.
Ability to make precise movements with equipment controls, ensuring accuracy and safety.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
IV.Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED-equivalent preferred.
At least two years of previous experience running heavy equipment.
Prior scrap metal industry experience preferred.
V.Other Job Demands While performing the essential functions of this job, the Heavy Equipment Operator will be working in an outdoor environment and will be exposed to all weather conditions. The employee may be near moving mechanical parts and this noise level in the environment can be loud and will require ear protection. The employee is required to sit, stand, and walk for long periods. This job also requires frequent bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 lbs., and working in confined spaces.
