Description
Key Responsibilities

• Ensures the execution of company policies and procedures
• Responsible for Training / Development of entire warehouse staff
• Plans daily staffing levels based on business needs of incoming and outgoing shipments to manage overtime
• Accountable for key operational metrics, on time delivery, order accuracy, shipment integrity, on time receiving of inbound freight, and inventory accuracy
• Drives operational efficiencies throughout the DC
• Drives safety program
• Drives inefficient and clean work environment
• Manages material handling equipment to reduce downtime
• Maintains facility equipment, dock levelers, dock doors, lighting, shipping and receiving yards, office space
• Manages employee evaluations
• Conducts daily meeting with department supervisors
• Partners with branch management to improve service
• Communicates with corporate office teams to address operational issues
• Drives continues improvement projects
• Reviews and revises productivity metrics with department heads to drive productivity improvements

Qualifications (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience)

• Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in an Operations Manager role
• Process improvement or change management experience
• Successful experience in Training and Development
• Experience in development of operational procedures and programs
• Detail orientation; ability to review and assess details quickly
• Numbers Oriented; Profit and Less Statement management
• Well-developed cognitive skills
• Solution Oriented; able to determine solution for multiple levels of the business
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook and Word

Working conditions (Branch/DC Positions)

• Work in enclosed offices and warehouse environment
• Occasionally outdoors in all weather conditions, including hot, cold, wet / dry weather
• Move over and/or around obstacles on the ground, and working in the vicinity of operating forklifts.

• Stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms
• Walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Sit, climb or balance
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts
• Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles
• May be exposed to a wide range of temperatures
• The noise level is usually loud
