Job Title: Assistant Finance Controller

Location: Flint, MI

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The Assistant Controller will support the Controller in managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, monitoring and analyzing accounting data, and producing financial reports. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Controller in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Implement and monitor the company's accounting system and policies to ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Oversee the activities of the accounting staff to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports.
Manage the preparation of budgets and forecasts and analyze financial discrepancies to recommend effective resolutions.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash control.
Maintain and oversee timely vendor invoice processing and perform/oversee customer collections.
Assist in developing and implementing new procedures and features to enhance the department's workflow.
Maintain and create production/statistical databases and Excel tables.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA or CMA preferred.
At least 3-5 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, with progressive responsibility.
Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles.
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
