Overview:

SR Statement of Work: Encantado Technical Solutions is seeking a qualified Systems Operator to support the enterprise SOC monitoring/tools team at a major Department of Energy Laboratory.The primary mission of department, is to develop and maintain a big picture, end-to-end view of operational IT services. We blend IT Service Management tools and best-practice ITIL processes to lead improvements in IT Service Management. Our portfolio includes automated discovery, performance and availability monitoring, enterprise and mission testing, a central tool suite with a service asset repository that supports all ITSM processes, including mature service catalog, request fulfillment, incident management, knowledge management, problem management, change management, service asset and configuration management, enterprise logging, and event management practices.Our Vision is to deliver secure next generation technical information solutions for the nation's nuclear deterrence lifecycle. Our Mission is to provide connected, innovative, digital solutions for the success of the clients organization component science, engineering, and production. For all work areas requested, individuals are required to have and maintain a DOE L or Q clearance. All resources shall perform work requests for tasks assigned by the service manager, team manager/lead or team coordinator, within the work areas requested.On-call may be required for select assignments as business needs change and shall be charged in accordance with the GBA provisions. Remote work may be allowed for select assignments, with concurrence from the SDR. Must maintain knowledge and skills related to current and new IT industry standards for operating systems and software languages.

Responsibilities:

Daily Tasks: The Systems Operation Center (SOC) at Sandia provides 24x7x365 monitoring of IT resources to quickly detect and respond to issues, minimizing downtime and impact on operations and projects. It monitors thousands of classified and unclassified computing elements, using a suite of Monitoring Tools to analyze conditions and detect issues such as application outages, router interface loss, slow web response times, and server resource thresholds. The SOC team initiates quick responses to events, minimizing potential damage or loss of service while keeping customers informed.Multiple shifts: Day Shift: 6:30 a.m. 3:00 p.m. Swing Shift: 2:30 p.m. 11:00 p.m. Mid Shift: 10:30 p.m. 7:00 a.m.Responsibilities: Ability to perform duties of a SOC I & II analyst. Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ETS SOC team. Serve as the team's ServiceNow Citizen developer and make necessary changes to the ServiceNow tool. Trained in the current ticketing system to help improve our services. Act as OLA coordinator for the SOC. Lead activities in maintaining information and document repositories for the team. Collaborate with the team manager on innovations. Collaborate with the team manager to provide coaching and support. Develop, maintain, and execute training for SOC Operations Team in collaboration with the SOC tools team and CCHD. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • High School Diploma with 3 years experience

Desired Skills:

Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must have an associate degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience. Must be cleared at the DOE Q or Top Secret (TS) level. Must have at least 1 year of experience working as a SOC Analyst at Sandia. ServiceNow Citizen Developer or ability to enroll in a course within 6 months of hire. ITIL Foundations Certificate or ability to enroll in ITIL Foundations course within 6 months of hire. Proficient with MS O365 Tools and Adobe Acrobat. Strong presentation, leadership, and communication skills.
