Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate provider to join our team. A teenage client in the Jefferson area needs a person to talk to and guide him through challenging times. In this role you will build a relationship and promote independence through engaging in activities the client enjoys.
Your primary responsibilities will be to teach independence with daily living activities, maintain a clean and safe environment, and promote overall well-being. Each clients needs are unique, and may involve different tasks needing to allow them to remain at home safely. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about social work or special education, and have a strong commitment to assisting others.
Duties:
- Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, and toileting may be required depending on the client.
- Assist with daily living activities, such as meal preparation, medication reminders, and mobility.
- Manage behavior and implement strategies to minimize challenging behaviors.
- Support individuals with autism and other special needs, adapting care to meet their unique requirements.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as grooming, feeding, and dressing.
- Engage in social activities, such as community outings and client preferred activities, to promote socialization and mental stimulation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and their families, providing emotional support and addressing any concerns.
Skills:
- Caregiving, childcare, or disability experience required.
- Strong understanding of behavior management strategies and the ability to implement them effectively.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Ability to adapt care to meet the unique needs of individuals in these environments.
