Position Title: Facility Maintenance Technician
XXXX is looking for a Facility Maintenance Technician. The candidate will report directly to the Facility Manager, and will be responsible for ensuring that facilities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition via execution of the responsibilities detailed below.
In particular, you will:
- Perform maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, and other physical structures
- Paint structures, drywall and plaster, performs masonry work, and repairs plumbing fixtures and woodwork.
- Assists higher-level technicians and engineers as needed.
- Clear walkways and entries of snow and debris
- Completes preventive maintenance as assigned.
- Performs equipment inspections, maintenance & repairs to ensure proper operation and safety.
- Communicates repair functions with supervisors & staff.
- Identifies and communicates safety hazards and quality deficiencies to maintenance management.
- Operates a forklift and/or pallet jack as needed to perform job functions.
- Enters data into maintenance and inventory software systems.
- Knows and complies with all safety and quality policies and procedures.
- Clean-up as required including, but not limited to, sweeping, washing, painting, trash removal, sanitizing lavatories, etc.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Facility Manager - Minimum of 3 years of prior related mechanical repair experience preferably in a manufacturing environment. - Must have general mechanical aptitude - Ability to plan a logical approach to troubleshooting and repairing equipment. Effective verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to read and comprehend manuals, schematics, material safety data sheets and instructions. - Self-starter; self-motivated; operates with a sense of urgency; ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines. - Detail oriented with the ability to complete handwritten compliance documentation neatly and accurately. - High School Diploma or GED required - Ability to read and interpret plot plans and P&IDs a plus
