ROLE: Human Resources Generalist

The company today serves the needs of students, lifelong learners, and professionals by providing curriculum products, language-study courses, digital encyclopedias, and dictionaries through its extensive product portfolio.
The Britannica Group is looking to augment its Human Resources staff with an HR Generalist position, which will support approximately 250 employees in the United States. You must be well organized, flexible, must have excellent attention to detail, be able to work independently and enjoy the challenges of supporting a company with diverse cultures. You will independently manage a variety of efforts, which will include onboarding and offboarding, support of performance management processes, compensation matters and coordination of policies and procedures on a global basis. You will also assist with employee engagement matters.
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the ideal candidate will be proactive and have experience in handling a wide range of human resources matters.
LOCATION: Chicagoland/Hybrid in Office
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - include but are not limited to the following:
1. Provide support to the Director of Human Resources and to the General Counsel.
2. Assist with managing HR daily matters throughout the Britannica Group, by coordinating and updating office and company policies, employee files, onboarding/offboarding
3. Coordinate annual performance review process and merit increases process.
4. Assist with compensation matters (annual bonus letters, merit increase cycle and compensation studies/benchmarking)
5. In coordination with the HR Director, assist with employee engagement matter (events, surveys, training programs, etc.)
6. Other duties may be assigned based on the needs of the Company, as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree
· 3 years of Human Resources experience
∙ Very strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential
· Experience with multiple state employees preferred but not required
· Ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive company and employee information
· Excellent ability to multi-task, prioritize, and problem solve in a busy, fast paced environment
· Proficiency in Google Workspace, MS Word, Excel, and Power Point is essential; Experience with SAP Successfactors and Paylocity is preferred
· Efficient in handling a wide range of administrative and executive support related tasks
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong professionalism and organizational and planning skills
∙ Knowledge and experience with pension plans a plus
