Requirements and Responsibilities:

* Hybrid Work (some on work performed on site(s); some remote work from home).

* BA/BS preferred.

* QSP or QSD certificate(s) or equivalent (PE) will provide higher pay but entry level is welcome to apply.

Water Resources Technician Job Description encompasses but is not limited to the following:

Fieldwork, driving, monitoring/sampling, and filling out associated reports.

Stormwater/Water Quality Monitoring and sampling, technical report writing, data entry, and working with clients to provide environmentally sound solutions to their stormwater/water quality challenges.

Water Resources Technician:

Site fieldwork includes: inspecting and monitoring for environmental compliance during construction projects; identifying corrective actions or deficiencies, conducting weekly, pre-storm, during storm, post-storm inspections, sampling stormwater, in-water work monitoring, receiving water sampling, writing multiple types of reports.

● Commute to remote work locations using your own vehicle, if needed. This is often times near construction sites (near a freeway, bridge improvements, sidewalk reconstruction, etc.)

● Work as a team member and support your colleagues

● Strong technical writing and oral communication skills

● Interact with clients and represent the firm in a highly productive capacity

● Data collection and quality control capabilities

● Write detailed reports with photo logs per CGP

● Write type 1, type 2, type 7, and type 8 Water Quality Monitoring Reports

● Use, maintain, and calibrate sampling equipment such as a turbidity meter, Dissolved Oxygen Meter, and pH meter

● Conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather and/or rugged terrain

● Timesheet/record keeping of tasks and duties

● Must be on time to job sites

● Must be okay with early varying start times for different projects

● Must be comfortable working on construction sites, and around heavy equipment

● Must be comfortable communicating with construction personnel

A Qualified Candidate can:

Accurately follow procedures with attention to detail. Stay organized. Has the ability to read and interpret lengthy permits and site documents and write grammatically correct technical documents. Attend meetings with clients at the request of project managers to provide expertise and consultation related to compliance and environmental resources. Be able to be self-reliant and self-sufficient. Is willing to maintain certifications by obtaining Professional Development Hours (PDH).

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour

Experience:

  • construction monitoring: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Required)

  • Caltrans 8 Hour WPCM training certificate (Preferred)

Willingness to travel:

  • 50% (Required)
