Job Description

We are seeking a Premium Audit Analyst for our Insurance Operations – Premium Audit group in our Charlotte, NC office. The selected individual will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of a variety of premium audit projects, and will be reporting to the AVP, Premium Audit Manager.

This role is focused on the coordination and oversight of multiple projects, tracking audits once sent to Rating, timelines, and management of personal audit inventory. They will be required to work with other teams within the organization – Premium Audit, Field Auditors, Underwriting, Unit Stat, Underwriting Assistants, Alternative Risk, Finance, etc. They will also have direct interaction with external clients – insureds and brokers. The successful candidate will track progress of audits and report results on a regular basis, learn rules and regulations for compliant premium audits, gain exposure to various size and types of completed field audits and coordinate finalization of those audits based on field results.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee and track all audits sent to Rating team by Premium Audit Analysts and Specialists to ensure completion within expected timeframe and to meet Bureau reporting obligations. Follow up with Rater/Rating team frequently to ensure timely completion and booking of audits.
  • Ensure completed audit is saved to proper Audit Bills folder and also booked in WINS.
  • Handle review of assigned new business and renewal audits to prepare audit instructions to send to Rating.
  • Maintain service standards by timely response to audit field team’s request for policy information and UW or broker requests.
  • Review audit discrepancies with Audit Analyst or Audit Manager for further direction on how to reach out and resolve issues.
  • Assist Audit Manager with pulling data needed for monthly reports.
  • Start to learn and be aware of frequent changes in audit practices, rules and techniques and begin introduction with specific state compliance issues and test audit regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 1-3 years of underwriting/insurance experience.
