Summary: Manages the supply chain in collaboration with other members of the supply chain, ensuring that raw materials are purchased and available to support production planning and company forecast. Supports the development and maintenance of the company’s ERP/MRP system and assists to maintain accurate price lists for purchased material. Performs work safely and efficiently and according to established company procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Manages purchase orders to support forecast and production plan for chemical raw material (bulk and non-bulk) and raw material for packaging operations by verifying specifications and price. Obtains approval from appropriate Budget Manager for each purchase.

Verifies purchase orders by comparing items requested to master list, clarifies unclear items. Leads to resolve shipping/receiving errors.

Manages a master list of purchased items and accurate price.

Manages and provides documentation to Accounts Payable for timely payment.

Collects, analyzes, summarizes, and shares data for purchasing activities.

Supports inventory accuracy of purchased materials by participating in cycle counting.

Communicates up and down the supply chain to work in a collaborative environment with other departments (internal and external) to support production plan.

Manages status and communicates timely and accurate information to appropriate personnel for:

• ETA of incoming raw materials

• Timely investigates viable options internally/externally to secure raw materials to meet production demands.

Manages Import/Export documentation in support of the compliance.

Supports the company and Production Control Management in maintenance and improvement of company operating systems including NAV, WMS, and scan gun devices.

Prepares reports as requested.

Assists management of contracts with material vendors as requested.

Travel to assist with audits of vendors and suppliers as necessary.

Performs all work according to safety policies and procedures (both in-house and regulatory) to decrease the potential for employee injuries on the job.

Cross trains to support all purchasing functions and all planning functions.

Recommends change to improve quality, cost, or safety.
