OverviewOur Nuclear Services Group is seeking anEnvironmental Licensing Specialist in the Kennesaw, GA, Oklahoma City, OK or Dallas, TX office location. In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform and lead environmental analyses in support of nuclear environmental licensing projects nationwide. Responsibilities
Conduct environmental reviews to assess the potential impact of proposed nuclear facilities on air, water, and land resources
Prepare environmental reports in accordance with NRC regulations, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and other applicable regulatory guidelines
Participate in site visits to gather environmental data and assess potential environmental impacts
Support the development of technical content (text, figures, tables) for environmental reports and site feasibility assessments
Support environmental licensing applications for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission
Interact with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and the public to address environmental concerns
Stay current on relevant environmental regulations and best practices
Assist in the development and implementation of environmental protection measures
Prepare presentations and reports to communicate complex environmental information to technical and non-technical audiences
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Geology, or a related field
Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental consulting, nuclear power, or a related field
Working knowledge of environmental regulations (NEPA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, etc.)
Experience with environmental impact assessments and environmental report preparation
Experience working with federal and state regulatory agencies, particularly the Nuclear Regulatory Commission
Ability to communicate highly technical environmental data to a range of audiences from agency regulators to elected officials and the public
Experience developing technical reports, environmental reports and supporting regulatory reviews
Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to travel/work in the field 10% of the time. Typical travel duration will be 3-4 days. Office work is typically 90% of the time for this position. Fieldwork can include site visits and meetings with clients and applicable regulatory agencies.
