Job DescriptionAt IPS, you will apply your knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people by solving complex challenges related to pharmaceutical, biotech, and animal health research and manufacturing facilities. We are looking for a talented Design Project Engineer II to join our industry-leading Engineering Design – Project Management team at our office located in Cary, North Carolina.
In this role, you will provide technical, managerial, administrative, and managerial support to Project Managers and Project Executives.
Position Responsibilities
Delivery of individual projects, focusing on quality objectives.
Procurement and coordination of all required project resources, including intradivisional, interdivisional, and extracorporate.
Preparation of subcontract, purchase order, and change control documentation and related financial documentation.
Evaluation of vendor and subcontractor invoices.
Development of change control documentation and related financial documentation.
Facilitating communication between project participants, and produces documentation of communication between project participants.
Development and maintenance of design execution plans.
Supports the coordination of technical design disciplines, including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, process, and process automation on pharmaceutical industry projects.
Coordinates review and approval from the Project Executive and/or Director of Operations, and communicates this information to the project team.
Develops a working knowledge of the project budget, and identifies exceptions to the project budget throughout execution of the project.
Monitors design content and quality and coordinates design revisions for constructability and compliance with basis documents, schedule, and budget.
Works with Document Control to ensure that all project documents are distributed, reviewed, and stored to meet project and corporate requirements.
Project documents include records of communications, design documents, bid packages, addenda, and bulletins thereto, and submittals, among others.

Qualifications & Requirements3 years engineering experience.
Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
Expertise in computer operation for engineering design programs and computer-aided drafting.
General knowledge of system design and applicable codes in specific discipline-related areas (Mechanical, Structural, Plumbing, Electrical, or Process).
QualificationsFundamentals of Engineering (formerly known as EIT) exam completion or Registered Professional Engineer.
Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industry experience.
