Job DescriptionJob DescriptionEnvironmental Specialist Needed In Phoenix, Arizona Immediately!A leading chemical supplier, serving industrial sectors and water treatment, seeks a specialist who will be responsible for ensuring company compliance in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, with a focus on Environmental program requirements. This is a FT, permanent job - sitting onsite at the Phoenix facility (this is not a remote job). There will be some travel involved, making some visits to the other locations (San Jose, Salt Lake City, City of Industry). Percentage of time traveling - one to two brief trips per quarter. Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain environmental (EHS) programs and policies to ensure a safe working environments, and one that follows regulatory standards, including EPA, CalARP, ADEQ, and UTDEQ.
Conduct regular facility inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks.
Provide safety guidance and training to employees.
Collaborate with teams to address environmental concerns and implement corrective actions.
Manage and maintain records of environmental inspections, incidents, and training activities to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, ensuring timely and accurate submission of required documentation and permits.
Participate in incident investigations and recommend preventive measures.
Stay updated on changes in environmental regulations and best practices.
The position will work in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings, such as offices, warehouses, and manufacturing areas. The position will require some travel and fieldwork. The position requires moderate standing and walking during certain tasks and while in certain work environments, making endurance an essential skill for this position.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of Environmental management experience, ideally in chemical manufacturing (or similar industry).
Strong knowledge of EPA compliance, and CalARP regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
Professional certifications such as Qualified Industrial Stormwater Practitioner (QISP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) are a plus.
Salary And BenefitsMonday through Friday - typical week schedule. Office hours are typically 7a.m. - 3:30p.m. Salary (Dependent upon experience): 77k to 82k Full Benefits Package (NOTE** The company will pay the ENTIRE health insurance premium to cover the employee, their spouse and all underaged children – at NO COST TO THE EMPLOYEE!)
Percentage of time traveling - one to two trips per quarter
