Hourly Pay: £11.44 per hour

Must drive as location does not have public transport

Job DescriptionWe are seeking for a ground's maintenance operative for our client based in Sonning. You will be responsible in ensuring that sports surfaces and the school's estate are maintained to an exceptionally high standard and contribute to the delivery of plans and programmes of work under the supervision of the Deputy Head Roundsperson. Duties
Prepare and maintain the sports grounds, gardens, woodland, and amenity areas to the standards set out by the Grounds Manager and Deputy Head Groundsperson.
Mowing, Watering and feeding plants
Trimming trees and shrubs
Fertilising and mowing lawns,Weeding gardens
Keeping green spaces and walkways clear of debris and litter
Planting, cultivating, and pruning plants and flowers
Diagnosing and treating plant diseases
Controlling pests
Mulch, edge and weed gardens
Prune and trim bushes
Marking out pitches, cleaning equipment stores and associated washdown areas.

Where necessary, arrange to get the pupil or person home safely or to alternative care
What You Will Bring:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in sports turf management or greenkeeping.
Good working knowledge of all aspects of Groundsmanship.
Clear understanding of relevant health and safety legislation.
Strong knowledge of plants, lawns and trees.
Sports pitch preparation, setting out and turf management
A valid full UK driving licence.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Hard working with attention to quality and detail.
Demonstrates commitment, enthusiasm, and initiative.
Trustworthy and reliable.
Supportive working nature.
Flexible approach to working hours (winter/summer hours) and willing to work extra hours when required to support sports fixtures and events (including some Saturdays)
Excellent timekeeping skills.
Ability to prioritise work, solve problems and seek help when needed.
Capable of working across the school site and potentially in all weathers
Capable of carrying out some tasks that require working at height (i.e the use of ladders and scaffold towers).
A pleasant and cheerful personality.
Computer literate.
Polite and professional communicator.
